Arlene Clara (McGill) Karlenzig - Aug 21, 2018 at Brunkild Lutheran Church

Arlene Karlenzig, a lifelong resident of Brunkild, passed away Wednesday the 15th of August at home with her family and dear friend Joyce Caldwell. Arlene was born to the late George and Annie McGill on December 26, 1937.

Arlene leaves to mourn her children; Linda Karlowsky, Sharon (Tim) LeClair, Kevin (Jeanne) Karlenzig, Colleen (Raymond) Huggart. Her Grandchildren; Joshua (Lisa), April (Sheldon), Kira (Gannon), Charlton (Sylvie), Brett (Karleigh), Sara (Blair), Steven (Kaleigh), Michelle (Joel), Thomas, and Alexis (Marcus). Her great-grandchildren; Bohannon, Nash, Kale, Kennedy, Brynn, Maddie, Colton, and Jackson. Arlene was predeceased by her husband Arthur Karlenzig, sister Connie (Roy) Nelson, brother George (Edie) McGill, sister Grace (Laurie) Franzmann, infant brother Barrie McGill, sister Melba (Bill) Karlenzig, sister in-law Gertrude (Arnold) Smith, sister in-law Dorothy (Harry) (son Donald) Ludwig, sister in-law Leona (Bruce), (son Larry) Nicholson, and her son in-law Ronnie Karlowsky.

Arlene grew up near Carman on the family farm. Arlene and Art were married on the McGill family farm in 1956. They started their life together in Brunkild, MB where they farmed and raised their family. Family and friends were Arleneā€™s passion and delight. Arlene cherished her Church community. Arlene dedicated much of her life to the Church as Superintendant and teacher, sitting on Church Board as President, ELCW chair and deacon. Arlene always saw the beauty in nature; she loved her butterflies, flowers, birch trees, humming birds, and her vegetable garden. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; she would attend any sports event, graduation, award ceremony, Birthday party or Fam Jam. Eventually she moved back to Carman where she made a new community of friends in Riverview, who soon became part of her ever-growing family.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at2:00pm at Brunkild Lutheran Church led by Pastor Trudy.
