Ethel Vivian Dracass - May 16, 2013 at Friends Community Church

Is with great sadness that the family of Ethel Dracass (Taylor) announces her peaceful passing on Thursday May 9, 2013 at Pineview Lodge, Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Mom was born August 8, 1925 at Graysville, Manitoba, the second youngest child of Abbott and Ethel Taylor. She grew up on the family farm west of Graysville where the Rosevalley Hutterite Colony is now.

On October 8, 1945 she married William Melville (Mel) Dracass at the Taylor farm in Graysville. Mom and Dad first lived in the Albert District north west of Carman and then moved to the home farm three miles north of town in 1953. She lived in the Carman area until 2010 when she moved to Nipawin, Saskatchewan.

Mom had many interests and hobbies including music, quilting, ceramics, 4-H, Carman fair, gardening and helping out on the family farm.

Left to remember and celebrate her life are her children Irene Stevenson (Larry) of Carman, Shirley Ruiter (Cornelius) of Carman, Helen Wiebe (Brian) of Nipawin Saskatchewan, Barry Dracass (Jeannette) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Bruce Dracass (CarolAnn) of Carman, daughter-in-law Betty Dracass of Langdon, Alberta, 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Mel (1987), son Ken (2011), grandson Don Hildebrand (2008), her parents, brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pineview Lodge Personal Care Home for making Mom's last few months enjoyable and comfortable. Your compassionate care and friendship will always be remembered.

The families wishes are that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
