Together with her parents and siblings, she immigrated to Canada in February, 1926. She was predeceased by husband George of 51 years, her parents, as well as seven brothers and four sisters.

She leaves to mourn her children Herta (Neil) of Winnipeg, Kae (Don) of Edmonton, Alberta, Abe (Judy) of Warburg, Alberta, Clint (Heather) of Carman, Don of Carman, Ted of Winnipeg, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Elizabeth enjoyed reading. She often talked about how much she had enjoyed school and how she regretted that her schooling ended when she was 12 years old. She and George raised their family on a farm in the Hopeland School district. She joined the dietary staff at the Boyne Lodge when it opened in 1967. She very much enjoyed her time there and made many lasting friendships.

Elizabeth was baptized when she was 13. Her faith, prayer and the singing of hymns were important in her life.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5 at 2:00 pm from the Friend’s Community Church. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. If friends so choose donations may be made to the Boyne Lodge Garden Project or Carman Handi Van.
